KAOMA district is one of the districts in Western province that has started receiving its share of 2022/2023 farming inputs.
Confirming the receipt of the commodities, Kaoma District Agricultural Coordinator, Chabalanga Ng’ambi disclosed that the district had received 152.65 x 50kilogrammes metric tonnes of D-Compound fertilizer out of 1,800 metric tonnes and 28.30 metric tonnes of Zambezi maize seed of out of 120 metric tonnes target for 2022/2023 farming season.
Mr Ng’ambi said more deliveries are expected this week and farmers will soon start depositing their K400 contributions.
Kaoma district has twelve thousand (12,000) Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) eligible farmers out of twenty-four thousand (24,000) registered farmers in all the 19 camps.
District Marketing and Development Officer, Howard Halubobya explained that Kaoma district is using what is called Direct Input Supply System (DIS).
Mr Halubobya said Kaoma district has been allocated 1,800 metric tonnes of D compound and 1,800 metric tonnes of urea.
He said other inputs are 120 metric tonnes of maize seed, 120 metric tonnes of soya beans and 120 metric tonnes groundnut seed. –NAIS
