A camp house rehabilitated at a total cost of K490,000 has been handed over to the Ministry of Agriculture in Luto Agricultural Camp in Kitwe on the Copperbelt.

Speaking during the hand over of the House, Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure Development, Provincial Works Supervisor Officer Misheck Jere said the house was completely overhauled with a new roof and solar power of 1,000 watts.

Mr Jere said the mandate of the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure Development is to rehabilitate government buildings and property.

“The ministry together with the contractor worked to ensure that the house was rehabilitated and made it habitable for the officer to stay in,” he said.

He urged the community in the area to protect the house because what belongs to government also belongs to them.

And speaking on behalf of Copperbelt Provincial Agricultural Coordinator Sekanyo Ngambi, Senior Crops Officer Michael Mumbi said the renovation of the camp house will make it easier for farmers to access extension services through the camp officer.

Mr Mumba said if camp offices are near, it will enable farmers easily access information, they need on agriculture and this can increase production and productivity among farmers. –NAIS
