The Zambia College of Agriculture – Mpongwe (ZCA-Mpongwe) is one of the seven Agricultural Training Institutions (ATI’s) under the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA). The other ATI’s under the MoA are: NRDC, ZCA-Mpika, ZCA-Monze, Katete College of Agricultural Marketing (KCAM), Zambia Centre for Horticultural training (ZCHT- Chapula) and Popota Agricultural College.
The college started as George Kostern Vocational Training College (GKVTC) offering Crafts certificates in Agriculture, Brick laying, Carpentry and Tailoring under TEVETA.
The core activity of the College is to train school and non-school leavers in General Agriculture
This is a two year programme offered on full time basis only. The programme is conducted on a hands-on basis with 40% theory and 60% practical.
Before graduating each student is required to undertake several projects in Crops, Livestock and fruit tree management.
Each student is required to undertake a mandatory 8 weeks field/industrial attachment programme before graduating.
Before graduating, each student in this 2-year Programme is required to undertake a mandatory 8 weeks attachment on a farm, agro-industry etc. This is meant to expose students to current activities, techniques etc. in the industry.

ZCA-Mpongwe is located about 298Km from Lusaka, it is situated on the Copperbelt Province of Zambia. Within the District, the College is located 2 Km from Central District to the South East of Mpongwe off Machiya road. The College is located about 62 Km from the Mining Town of Luanshya.

All payments to the College are done through College bank accounts and only deposits slips are presented to the College Cashier for issuance of a Government receipt.
All tuition fees are supposed to be paid in full before being admitted to the College, the College has a refund surcharge policy in place.
