Copperbelt Provincial Agricultural Coordinator Dr. OBVIOUS KABINDA has cautioned farmers against selling the inputs they will access from the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP).

Dr KABINDA says the Ministry of Agriculture in province has engaged the farming community to ensure inputs are used according to the intended purpose.

Speaking when Nimba Investments Head of Sales Marketing WILLINGS MULENDEMA visited him at his office in Ndola,  Dr. KANBINDA said the province is set to start the distribution exercise as it has received most the of the FISP inputs.

He says the Camp Agricultural Extension Officers have been tasked to identified the farmers’ fields and monitor them.

Dr KABINDA has further cautioned farmers against sharing the packs of inputs they will receive, as one pack is meant for one farmer stipulated in the modalities.

And Mr MULENDEMA says Nyimba Investments has made great progress in delivering the fertilizer for the FISP Direct Input Supply to the Coppebelt Province.

Mr MULENDEMA says four out of the eight Districts under its contract have received full amounts of Fertilizer as per contract.

Meanwhile, Kalulushi District Commissioner KEN SIACHISUMO has commended Nyimba Investments for delivering the fertilizer to the district in good time as it will enable farmers to access them before the onset of the rains.
