ISCTRC outgoing Chairperson Prof. ARMED commended Zambian government for commitment torwards control of tsetse

The International Scientific Council for Trypanosomiasis Research and Control (ISCTRC) has commended the Zambian Government for increased commitment and support towards the control and eradication of tsetse and trypanosomiasis.

ISCTRC outgoing Chairperson Prof. ARMED RAHMAN says Zambia is one of the countries that have exhibited increased commitment towards the campaign against tsetse and trypanosomiasis through financial and material support.

Prof RAHMAN told the National Agricultural Information Services (NAIS) in an interview at the ongoing 34th General Conference of the International Scientific Council for Trypanosomiasis research and control in Livingstone, that Zambia has made positive strides in combating the problem.

He says the control and eradication of tsetse and trypanosomiasis is important in the economic development of the affected African countries and that it can only be successful with the support and commitment by the countries involved.
